I tried to get these posted around Thanksgiving when I got back from a
5 week trip to Maryland, Eastern Shore of Virginia and Hatteras, NC.
Problems with the forum website continued for me until yesterday, when
apparently Greg got it fixed. Thanks again Boss!!!

Anyway, The fin-fish and shellfish stocks seemed to be in good shape this
fall. Clams and oysters are especially salty this year do to the drought
and are very clean because of the lack of storm water run-off.
Got our fill of seafood on this trip for sure!

Here are some pics....

Are you from S.LA? Man yall eat everything!! Get Catch... I need to talk at ya... ;)

Nice pics Pappy!!! Blowfish are one of my favorites. I grew up in Carolina Beach NC and fished everyday. When the tourists would catch blowfish they would either kill them or throw them back. I would lend a helping hand and help dehook and then keep them! Mighty good eating!!!

I know what the coquinas are but never thought about eating them!! I will next time!

I didn't know they were edible, either.

I also didn't know the name for those pea crabs, but I've seen them lots of times. When my kids were little, they loved finding those little crabs inside their oysters.

And I haven't seen oysters that big in years. That's what I call "living large".

You OK oompappy??? Have not heard from you since that post! ;)

Your correct GH, The livers, skin & gonads have the T- toxin. so they do have to be cleaned carefully to remove all of that.
In your area (Indian River Lagoon) Puffers can also have the S-toxin that is caused by something similar to red tide in the food chain.
I sure hope that stuff doesn't spread!

Here is the latest advisory from the FDA. Scary Stuff!
