so I fried some squash and okra, grilled some squash marinated in
zesty italian and some corn, added dirty rice and walked next door to
my neighbor, who had a pound of mahi mahi that his friend had caught
Friday. he grilled the fish and made a buerre blanc sauce that rocked...damn good eats...







 
dat neighbor can cook....he's a life long restaurant guy who
now sells spices to restaurants in his own business. He's
got the best vegetables I've ever eaten....Larry used to laugh
at me cause one night neighbor Bill served me a paella with
saffron dish, and I said I'd crawl a mile to eat a grain of that rice.
and I would.
But he's one of those guys who don't like to give out his recipes.
I get him drunk and he spills the beans some, but I'm pretty sure
I never get the whole story. Anyway, he's one of those guys who
would rather cook than eat, like me, so we always fight about who's
gonna cook dinner. I did the veggies for a change, but that fresh
mahi was the star of the show....sometimes he overcooks or holds meats too long, but it was incredible...most perfect fish I've ever eaten.
I'd swim a mile for a nibble of that fish.
