I went to both of his New Orleans restaurants several years ago. I was not at all impressed by the food, although the service was very interesting. They did what is called synchronized serving. Every plate for each course had to be placed onto the table at the same time by two different waiters. They even had to pour the gumbo into our bowls at the same time. When it was time for the gumbo to be served, there weren't any spare waiters so the man himself served my gumbo.

Paul Pruhdomme's restaurant was much, much better. IMHO

See, I go for the earthy cajun/creole stuff there like Po Boys, Red Beans, Turtle soup, Jambalaya,Gumbo, Etouffie. Mothers on Poydras(?) has a great Po Boy!! There is a great French Steakhouse called "Chateaubriand" 3 miles out from the quarter. All the haute creole stuff like Trout Meunier and Oysters Ravigot, are way too rich for my tastes! Woody

I dont mind Flay's shows, but he looks and sounds exactly like an old boss I had that was also from NYC..He was pretty uppity and stuck on himself..not unlike how Bobby comes across to me. I did like the show he used to do that was sort of in an apartment like set where he had a bunch of people around and a lady co-host.
