Just my daughter and I all weekend! So we has stuff that just 'Us' like!! Enjoying the bonding time with her!

These were the only clams the store had, pretty much chowder clams but cooked right and they were not so tough, very good overall. They also had head on shrimp, a staple when I lived in NC so I got a pound of those as well.

Steamed the clams in a can of beer.

Added Old Bay and Vinegar to the clam broth and cooked the shrimp for a couple minutes in that.

Looks killer even though I think clams are nasty. What so special about head on shrimp? Is there more flavor? Just curious. I just saw those head on shrimp at the asian market.

In my neck of the woods head on shrimp = fresh and large.

BTW, fresh corn (Silver Queen if you can find it) cooked in clam broth is something to try. Chicken wings work, too.

Clam broth doesn't smell or taste fishy. Steam the clams in water, not beer, if you're going to cook corn or wings in them. You can sprinkle Old Bay or another crab seasoning on them in place of salt and pepper. BTW, small, new or fingerling potatoes taste good cooked in clam broth, too.
