Re: chex mix/ party mix recipe?

This is my wife's recipe and it is always a huge hit.

Chex Mix

2 2/3 cup Rice Chex

2 2/3 cup Corn Chex

2 1/3 cup Wheat Chex

3 cups pretzels

1 can deluxe mixed nuts

1 can cashew nuts

6 Tablespoons butter

2 Tablespoons Worchestershire

ĺ teaspoon garlic powder

Ĺ teaspoon onion powder

1 Ĺ teaspoon Lawrys

melt butter and spices and pour over chex/nuts.

Bake one hour at 250*, stirring every 15 min.

Here's an interesting history of the changes in the recipe over the years.

http://community.tasteofhome.com/forums/t/228222.aspx

I use the first "original" recipe on that page, but usually increase the margarine to a stick and a half, with 2 Tablespoons of wooster.

I don't have a recipe, but my godmother always used bacon grease AND butter. Not sure of the amounts, but I'm sure you could improvise.
