I took last week off for a little camping trip with friends and family just up the coast from where we live. It’s a great little campground North of Ventura California called Hobson's. The weather was perfect and the food was great. I took the old ECB and smoked two racks of spares, two racks of baby backs and some fatty’s, I also threw on the trimmings from the spares to use in the baked beans. The ECB certainly isn’t my WSM but for the most part, it worked fine and I will take it on future trips. The first shot is of me enjoying a cold one just after lighting the ECB. The next one you can see the spares on the bottom rack with the fatty’s and one of the cuttings from the spares on top. I waited awhile to put on the baby backs so they wouldn’t over cook, we ate the fatty’s as an appetizer. Unfortunately that’s the only shot of the food...my bad...sorry. The rest of the pictures are the kids playing and fishing on the rocks and the view from our picnic table. All in all it was a much needed break for me and time well spent with my family. The kids are growing up fast so I need to get as much time in with them now as I can. Hope you enjoy.
