Cajun Country~City Farm Should Be Productive

While grilling this evening and watering the garden I decided to take a few pictures out on the farm. I mean yard.

The orange trees look like they will be as productive or better than this past year.

What's the saying? A fig in the hand is worth two on the tree. I meant to get this picture and pick this fig a day or two ago. It was deliciously sweet.

While feeding the chicks, this one(Production Red)hopped out of the brooder box so, I let her stretch her legs a little.

Thanks guys! I can't wait for fresh eggs daily and if one of the eight chicks turns out to be a rooster he will be grilled.

I think Hamlins are what we call juicing oranges. I wish ours looked as good. The last couple of years frosts have taken their toll here in Florida.

May want to rethink the rooster grilling. Them critters can be sorta chewy. Maybe chicken n dumplings..yep that should work.

That's wonderful ! I want to live somewhere where I can grow fruits and vegetables without a greenhouse and have chickens, that aren't eaten by wolves and bears !
