Big Easy: Roast Beast Trial Run

Ya'll boys know I've been playing with this Big Easy by Charbroil and I have to say they don't pay me but this thing is pretty cool. It's really an out door hot oven I guess but the inferred heat does great stuff to meat and it's skin and such.

I heard you can do a Roast Beast in it but the thing is so new there are no Times and Temps or Tips and Tricks writen for it just yet.

So....here's what I did and it turned out fantastic for the most part.

I got me a big ole Roast Beast.

Seasoned that Bad Boy with Olive Oil, Salt and Pepper and Worship Suace.
http://www.mikehedrick.com/bbq/foodp...astbeast02.jpg

Used the World Famous Toaster Rack to hold the Beast in the middle of cooker.

Smelled like a Darn Steak cooking down in there!

I took it to a solid Medium/Medium Rare at 150 cus I wasn't sure what the heck to do Boy I was experimenting. Pay Attention. lol

MONITOR IMPACT WARNING!
Look ar this folks. It was a cross between a Steak and a Pot Roast. Not as mushy as a Crock Pot Roast and the char on outside of meat was great. Plus the inside was not just that gray meat but was Medium.

I made some freash gravy with drippings and well ate some. Yummm!

I give the thing 5 Cows for cooking Roast Beast.

Dang it Mike, stop this crap. I've already looked at one, no way in hell I'm gonna get another cooker. Uh, but just in case, don't imagine it took very long to cook; suppose your buddy has any more of those stainless steel racks around?

So Mike. This cooker is just on and off, correct? Did it come with a cookbook at all? How do you set temps? Everything looks awesome. I'm almost ready to make my buy.. Tell me more. But in less than 12 minutes please...

Yer a knucklehead bro.

The cooker has just 1 setting. ON. I did hear someone say they turned their's down but I'm not sure that can be done and it defeats the purpose. The temp I think is between 400-450 degrees. I know the stainless inner liner is 450+ degrees

There is no cookbook just yet and actually I'm one of the guys working with Charbroil [for free] to write some recipes and try new things.

I think the Meatloaf and Wangs and even Baked Potatos I was the first to try.

Was that under 12 minutes? How slow do you read?
lol

peace brah!
