The backyard hawks made a rare appearance together on my back fence. They are about 60 feet away and I’m using a little point & shoot camera.
It’s about 7:00p with the sun low in the west, I’m shooting to the southwest. Kind of surprised that the pictures turned out decent enough to post.

Looks like they had a spat and are not talking to each other.
I live on a ridge overlooking a valley that is well known for Hawks. We see them all the time, but seldom as close as what you captured in the pics. Thanks for sharing.
Maybe stake out a cat to draw more of them in.

With all the crops grown around here, we have lots of mice.......and lots of hawks.

I always give them a second look if I am not driving.

I got a hawk story...your photo reminded me. I was tooling along a back road near my house on the Harley and just rounded a curve. With no cars around and the curve behind me I could dope-off looking at stuff. A large bird (a grouse, I think) flushed from the ditch on the right and gained altitude across in front of me to the left side of the road. It got 25 feet into the air (now I'm watching this thing take off) when it EXPLODED into a mess of feathers. I couldn't figure what the hell happened....looked like it swallowed a 1/4 stick. Then I caught the tail end of a hawk flying away. Man, that was violent.

Hawk is about the only thing that haswn't spattered on my kisser.
The above doesn't require remarks.

We have a hawk we see occasionally. One morning it startled my wife as she was sitting at the breakfast table - it flew down and landed on the deck railing, just outside the window - about 6 feet from where she was sitting (through a window, but still...)

Nice pics!!! I always stop to look at hawks and eagles around here. Today I saw an aligator crossing the road and I just had to pull over and watch it go by. I think it was looking for some ;)
