Well, we made our first sucesfull camping trip with the new motorhome this weekend. We went to Camp Chautauqua near Jamestown NY. My buddy was making fun of me in the beginning for not having a gas grill and having to go through all the hassle of charchol. By Saturday night he was asking about the differant types of grills and charcols ..another convert..lol. Friday night I grilled chicken wings, then sauced 'em with a butter/Franks hot sauce/garlic combo. On Saturday, grilled balony sandwches w/onions (like fried bologna)was breakfast. I made pizza's for lunch..
.
Dinner was grilled chicken, Salan's hot dogs, roasted corn on the cob and a few differant salads. For desert, along with the obligatiory s'mores, my buddy made these cool pastrys over the fire. He took the dough you get in thoase pop-up cans, rolled it around a broom handle and cooked it over the fire (it took just a minuete or two). He then slid them off the handle and filled them with fruit fillings..Ill post more pics in the recipe section, but heres the almost finished product being filled..
We spent most of the rest of the evening thinking of other fillings. Of course chopped pp was the first idea on the list.
All in all, a good weekend..really needed the get away. It poured rain Sunday as we broke down camp and just as we were pulling out wet and soggy the sun came out...gotta love it !
