Way Kewl!!! Now, what is the attachment on the side?...the thermos lookin thing.
Great Job!
dj

Appreciate it MitchSchaft & DJ :D

DJ It's called the Big Kahuna Smoke Generator
The attached tubing runs to an aqarium air pump.
Fill the cylinder with whatever wood chips you want &
provides over 4 hours of continuous smoke in the barrel.
I make & smoke my own cheeses & this provides the
smoke with no heat at all. If I'm gonna use WBS
normally with coal basket it provides awesome smoked
flavor!

Looks awesome! Fine job... fine job indeed

Unless it needs to be that tall for some reason....
I would either do away with the chrome tip
or lower the exhaust to where you ONLY have the
chrome stack sticking out of barrel.

just my $.02 of course

I agree with SJ. The first thing I thought as I was looking at the pics was " I bet that stack is going to create some draw ".

Very impressive looking.

First, BEAUTIFUL Bluz!!!! Very very nice! I'd love to have something like that for cold smoking!!

Your 'draw' should be fine if you control the 'intake', in otherwords, you should have to barely open up your intake vents......speaking of that, where are they?? I see something poking out in a couple spots, but can't make out what they are?

The biggest thing with the exhaust I see is if you don't have a covered area to use it when it's raining and the rain getting in it.

Appreciate the positive words folks :D

Div...me too :D

Larry Wolfe I installed 3 intakes around bottom of barrel. I used 2" long 3/4" threaded pipe with screw on caps, so that I can open up or close off any combination of the 3.

Hmmm....from the looks of the pic's it looks like you're going to have to completely take off the cap for airflow...is that correct? If so, that and the size of the exhaust will probably be too much flow. Is there a way besides taking the caps on and off you can more precisely adjust the amount of flow??

That's the only way I have Larry
I will have to remove individual caps on the 3

Just a thought, but you may want to at least think about adding at least one of these so you can more precisely control temps. But hey you haven't even cooked on it yet, so it may work perfect, but just in case this is another option if you have temp control problems.

Could you cut a couple of slots in the threaded section of the pipe, so that the slots are covered when the cap is fully screwed down, but as you unscrew the cap you progressively expose more of the slots? That would give you the ability to have some airflow choice other than "completely shut" or "wide open".

Appreciate it fellas :D

bknox thanks... hope to do some serious smokin' in it this weekend ;)

swampsauce Its an external smoke generator (driven by aquarium
pump) Just load it up with wood chips of your choice, fire it up & it will
put smoke in the barrel for about 4 hrs. on one fill ;)
