I recently started using a fire brick wall in my Performer (Thanks Pigs), but that causes a problem with the gas ignition being too far into the kettle to work properly. Made this mod on my Performer in Ohio a few weeks ago and thought I would post pictures here just in case anyone wondered if it could be done. You do have to totally disassemble the ignition system and slide the tube back til it just hits the charcoal bin then put it all back together. Really seems like much better placement of the ignition system if you like to bank the coals to one side rather than in the middle.
