Primed and put first coat of black on today. Looks pretty good actually. It's a firebox. I'll shoot some pics later in the week. My buddy came over today expecting the whole top to be warped...the hump spans the width of my hand and no more than 3/16" high...not as bad as I thought. It'll drain water off the top better now. ;)

It can be done with heating the plate cherry red and spotting with cold water. It has been done in the shipbuilding industry forever to straighten steel decks, but ya gotta know what you are doing.

Build a real hot fire on top (outside) or torch heat to cherry red, and push up from inside with a bottle jack. A pressure distributing steel plate between the jack and inside top would be needed.

A video would be enjoyed by all.

Thats exactly what I was gonna say! ;)
