I hated to cut this shaker basket up but I needed a charcoal basket today. So this is what I came up with.

A stroke of luck in that this basket fit perfectly on the screws where the cooking grate was. I could not have asked for a better fit.

I did have to get out the dremel and cut some of the ash dump away so it would clear the basket. The basket was purchased at Lowe's and it cost around $13.00

If it can be done with a Dremel Tool then I can make it.

The mod was perfect for what I was doing. The basket is hanging on screws that were already in place for something else. It was kinda like a perfect Retro fit. That just made it that much sweeter. =P~

Nice mod. Your turning into a regular McGuyner (sp). How is it working for you?

I used to watch a show called McGyver!! Man just think if McGuyner and McGyver ever met up?? They could make a duct tape planet!!!
